How to report an error
Send the article or profile URL, identify the exact statement at issue, explain the requested correction and include an official or otherwise reliable supporting source when possible.
How we review requests
The newsroom compares the request with the published language and available sources. We may contact the person submitting the request, the subject of the coverage or another source for documentation or context.
What we correct
We correct material factual errors, inaccurate descriptions, broken attributions and source-supported changes to public professional information. We do not remove accurate reporting merely because it is unflattering, and we do not change a story to adopt a source’s preferred framing.
Updates and transparency
Minor spelling, grammar, formatting and link repairs may be made without a formal note. When a substantive correction changes a reader’s understanding of the story, the article should make that change clear.
